Guiding Toddler Energy toward Learning
We know and expect bundles of energy from our Toddlers. From tantrums to toilet training, we love that energy and excitement from our Toddlers because we know that it’s a natural part of growth and learning. We create experiences that are active, sensory-based and meaningful. Our teachers plan age appropriate activities to improve coordination and increase verbal and problem-solving skills by:
- Giving each child choices throughout their day giving them opportunities to become more Independent.
- Building their Motor Skills through tossing, catching and rolling a ball. Stringing large beads, working simple puzzles and as simple as learning to put on a jacket.
- Reading books and encouraging our Toddlers to talk to each other through Dramatic Play using telephones, dolls and trucks increases their Language Development.
- Giving toddlers toys and materials they can touch, see, hear, taste and smell is important for Cognitive Development. They then begin to understand about basic concepts such as size, shapes, colors and numbers.
Our classrooms are divided into general interest learning centers that meet the children’s need to move, explore, express and relax. Our teachers engage activities such as painting, water and sand play, block and construction play , manipulative play and small group experiences. All of these experiences pave the way for toddlers in their journey of learning.
